STEP 1

Raw material standardisation

We analyze, sort, and classify the waste based on its composition to achieve a standard product. When necessary, and based on the quality of the waste, we add more post-consumer cellulose fibres.

STEP 2

Nature-inspired enzymatic treatment

Based on our research, we’ve identified the enzymes used to process cellulose. Adding these enzymes in our process allows us to generate stronger bindings between cellulose fibres.

STEP 3

Mechanical transformation

We mix in healthy, non-toxic additives to the now upcycled cellulose fibres. Once added, we compress and shape the material into a wet board.

STEP 4

Drying & Material Generation

We feed the wet board through a drying tunnel. Through high airflow and temperature, the remaining water is evaporated, Honext is now ready for its next healthy space.

Recycle

With the board reaching its end after many years of use, we can repeat the cycle. We feed the material back to the process and use that to generate a new lot of Honext boards.
