At Honext we are proud to be part of Vareta, a design that has recently been recognised with the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025, a prestigious seal of excellence in design worldwide.
A project that comes from the valiant vision of GREENAREA, a pioneering company in the use of preserved vegetation and biophilic solutions that has been working for more than 14 years to project the well-being of people in interior spaces, and from the talent and experience of Rafa Ortega’s design.
Much more than a wall cladding, VARETA is an aesthetic, functional and sustainable solution that transforms walls into sensorial experiences full of character. Bringing together tradition and modernity, it demonstrates how design can be a transformative tool when coupled with responsible materials, authentic collaboration and a strong will to innovate.
Vareta is created on HONEXT® boards, a circular material by design, made from industrial cellulose fibre waste and 100% recyclable. Certified Cradle to Cradle Gold and Material Health Certificate™ Gold Level, HONEXT® guarantees not only a positive environmental impact throughout its life cycle, but also total safety for indoor use. It contains no toxics and emits no hazardous substances, making it an ideal material for the workplace or our homes, where we spend (approx. 90% of our time) and where we need a safe environment, minimising the emission of pollutants into the air.
This recognition is also a reflection of what happens when design, technology and sustainability meet. Thanks to Rafa Ortega’s talent, GREENAREA’s expertise in biophilia and the choice of HONEXT® as the basis of the design, Vareta has become a unique proposal, which has deserved this renowned iF Design Award.
