HONEXT Material in a Ecoalf’s Flagship store in Milan

PROJECT POSITIVE IMPACT 30m2 HONEXT = 215 Kg RESCUED WASTE

Ecoalf and Studio Urquiola have created a bright and monochromatic space using recycled materials, ecodesign, and circularity as fundamental pillars of the project. The space is characterized by whitish tones and contrasting organic textures.

The flagship store is located in a LEED and WELL certified building allowing Ecoalf to reduce the energy consumption and the CO2 emissions derived from the use of electricity and offers a space that promotes the welfare of the surrounding community.

Recycled and 100% recyclable materials in the new Ecoalf store in Milan

Urquiola has chosen our HONEXT® carbon-negative, flame retardant and non-toxic boards entirely made from upcycled waste fibers for the store furniture design. An innovative and circular solution for interior design that is cradle to cradle certified, one of the most demanding certified to assess the circularity of a product, and material health certified that accredits it as safe for our health.

All the elements of the project have been chosen with great detail; in addition to HONEXT, Studio Urquiola have included ecological paints, recycled textiles, 3D printing and other sustainable products to demonstrate that a new way of designing and building our spaces is possible, creating a positive impact on the environment and health.

“Working with the Ecoalf team has been very stimulating; a collaboration based on shared values. Gae Aulenti’s shop symbolizes the commitment we both have in creating truly sustainable projects.(…)” – Patricia Urquiola.

ECOALF has successfully implemented measures to ensure that its new Italian store is emission-neutral. By utilizing sustainable building materials, the store is able to reduce its carbon footprint and minimize greenhouse gas emissions.

“Our stores embody the fundamental values of Ecoalf: sustainability, design and innovation and follow the same philosophy of the brand with the aim of doing the least possible damage to the planet.” – Javier Goyeneche, Ecoalf president & founder.

At HONEXT, we believe that sustainability is not only necessary but achievable through collective efforts. We want to express our appreciation to Ecoalf and Studio Urquiola for their commitment to using sustainable building materials and joining us in the journey towards a circular economy model. We are honored to be part of this project and will continue our efforts to create a better future. Thank you for the opportunity to collaborate towards environmental responsibility.
